When our company accepted the challenge of an ISO certification, specifically Environmental Health and Safety, I’ve never seen the management so serious about maintaining safety in the work place. And as a purchasing officer, I was tasked to look for quality Personal Protective Equipment with the lowest bid. I started sending out requests to suppliers for quotes on work boots, safety glasses, overalls, gloves, hard hat and even bib overalls. But much to my luck, before I even called for a pre-bidding conference to discuss specific requirements to suppliers, I came across this website www.constructiongear.com. Their price is way below those quotes that I received. So I asked my boss to approve this kind of purchase, which we do for emergency purposes, because it will definitely provide the company much savings. My boss didn’t think twice about it but decided to also discuss it with the requisitioner so that there won’t be any problem in the future. Now, we’re just waiting for the delivery which comes free with the purchase. For the meantime, I am trying to look for suppliers of medicines and other medical supplies to ensure that each work station is equipped with first aid kit.
